Cassandra Pfaff, E-RYT 200, YACEP
Cassie discovered her practice in the late 90’s after finding a book about yoga at a campus book sale. The practice she learned was basic, but helped her to endure the stress and physical strain from life-long autoimmune deficiencies. Cassie is the lead trainer for Moonglow’s RYT-200 program, and she is currently on a multi-year path towards her yoga therapy certification. As a non-typical, plus sized yogini with T-Rex proportions and quads that will allow her to stay in crescent lunge for way too long – her own body has helped her find acceptance and levity in her teaching. Her classes often mix breath-guided flow with yin yoga, restorative poses, and guided meditation.
Cassies mother, Melanie, was the original founder of Moonglow Yoga – a certified yoga instructor who studied yoga for over twelve years and taught for over seven. Melanie’s trainings included workshops with Bryan Kest, Rod Stryker, Max Strom as well as many others. Previously, she taught aerobics and fitness. Melanie brought hot vinyasa yoga to Greensburg – along with the philosophy that we continue to follow as the foundation of the studio: family, friendship, laughter, community. Melanie lost her battle with breast cancer in January 2013, but she remains in the heart and soul of the studio. Her light shines on through the studio and each and every one of its teachers.
